Technical assistance

for sustained impact

GCPF’s Technical Assistance Facility supports the green lending activities of partner institutions to promote the sustainable development of this market. The TA Facility helps to overcome key challenges when launching financing for energy efficiency or renewable energy projects, including a lack of experience in identifying and evaluating the risk and return of energy efficiency and renewable energy investment opportunities.

Set-up of the Technical Assistance Facility

The TA Facility is sponsored by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) and the UK’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). It regularly receives a share of GCPF’s net profit, but operates separately from GCPF and is overseen by an independent Technical Assistance Committee.

Technical Assistance services are supplied by local third-party providers who are selected through a tender process in accordance with international best practice. A dedicated Technical Assistance team ensures that projects are managed professionally.
